A German communique states : We repulsed an attack north-west of St. Menshold, with heavy French losses. We captured Boryznoff, taking 1000 prisoners and six machine guns, and subsequently repulsed three night counter-attacks, there being great Russian losses. Our offensive in East Rawa slowly progressed. GENERAL NEWS. SEIZURE OF CARGO OF COPPER. London, January . The authorities at Copenhagen seized a large cargo of copper, which a Ger-man-American firm was attempting to smuggle into Germany by meaus ef a false bill of lading. FRENCH DIRIGIBLE AT COBLENZ Amsterdam, January . A telegram from Berlin states that a French dirigible landed near Coblenz with a passenger. A basket of missing maps and instruments was found near by.
