OPEN AIR CONCERT. Given fine weather, a record attendance is anticipated at the Stratford racecourse to-morrow' afternoon, when the Wanganui Garrison Band, under Conductor Wade’s direction, give one, ot 5 their popular open-air concerts. The object of this concert is to assist tlie i Belgium Relief Fund, and we feel sure everyone will readily respond to this appeal for so worthy a. cause. Apart from the deserving object, the excellent programme to be rendered by the Band should attract all lovers of good music, as the performances by the Wanganui Garrison Band are well and ■favorably known thronoghont Australasia. The record held by the Band is unequalled by any similar combination in Australasia, having won the championship of Now Zealand at Ballarat in 1910. In quickstep competitions the Band has only been defeated once during the last fourteen years. Some well-known numbers are to be played on Sunday, ’ viz., the overture “Light Cavalry,” “Cavalliera Rnsticana,” “Comfort Ye,” and “The Glory,” also a splendidly arranged selection, “Polinto.”
