Many friends in Stratford will regret to learn of the death of ‘Mr George Tabor, which occurred sudjj denly at New Plymouth yesterday. *
The Hon. W’. Fraser (Minister for Public-Works) was a passenger by the mail train this morning. The Minister is to visit Eltham to-day, and will proceed to Manaia and other places in that district, for the purpose of selecting sites for stations on the Opunake Railway. It is understood he will bo accompanied byMr Wilkinson, member for Egmont.
Mr T. E. Y. Seddon, member for Westland, arrived in Wellington in good time to learn of his success in passing the final section of his L.L.B. degree in the law examination. Mr Seddon sat for the examination on the eve of his departure from Wellington for bis late political campaign. Indeed (remarks the Lyttelton Times), there were only some three hours between the time he completed bis examination and the time for sailing for Westland, where lie had to begin Ids platform fighting the following ,night. Under such pressure Mr Seddon sat for the examination not without surrounding difficulties, and his many friends will be pleased to hear that despite the untoward circumstances he has been successful. Mr Seddon will now rank in the army of barristers, and it is understood that lie proposes actively following up the legal profession.
