NEW PLYMOUTH RACES. Following sire udditiotuil results ol ?he second day’s events, for winch the totalisator handled £16,056, including £‘2904 on the last race, a record for any one event in the Club’s history. For the two days’ racing the public invested £32,335 10s, as against £27,025 10s last year, the improvement being £4710. Some splendid races were fought out during the day. An unfortunate event, Xita falling at the last .‘hurdle and bringing down Kauroa, the latter having subsequently to be v destroyed. The deputy-judge was Mr B. H. Chaney, not Mr A. W. Budge, as erroneously stated in. yesterday’s issue. New Plymouth Handicap (open), of 125 sovs; one mile and 110 yards.— Astor 1, Passadena 2, Wild Lupin 3. Also'ran: 1 Te Hou Hou 7.0, 5 Katun 6.12, 6 Master Tupuhi 6.7 (and 24!hs-over). Scratched: Quo Yadis. Astor got the best of the start, closely chased by Te Hou Hou and Wild Lupin. Once turned for home there was only Astor in it. Time Imin 5 2-ssec.
Warea Hack Scurry, of 50 sovs; five furlongs.—Glenroy 1, Wioletta 2, Rosalys 3. Also ran : 7 Deeside 8.0, 5 Con Guard 8.0, 8 Red Coral 8.0, 9 Miss Potato 8.0, 3 Top Twig 8.0, 6 Flirt 8.0. ». Scratched: Zion, Deemster, Lad o’ Gowrie, A estalis, Iceberg, Combustion, Black Ada, Oblikoff, Red Hot, Patrcnata, Go On, Veto, Formulate. Glenroy was never troubled. Time Imin 3 2-ssec.
Urufci Welter Hack Handicap, of 100 sovs; one mile anade 1, Harbor Light 2, Cordon 3. Also ran: 3 Draft 9.4. Scratched, Patronymic. Chamanade got a fly' ing start, hut soon gave place to Harbor Light, and along the back stretch was running last.t Ridden with fine judgment, the chestrtut got his neck in front, Cordon two lengths behind. Time Imin 54sec.
