NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
The Stratford Racing Club holds its Annual Meeting on Friday and Saturday, the Ist and 2nd of January. The largely-increased stakes have attracted horse-owners, and record entries have been received, and splendid fields are sure to result. Since its last race-meeting the Club has still further added to its previous good accommodation for the public by extending the large grandstand for an additional forty feet, at the same time increasing the size of the ladies’ cloak-room and luncheon room. A ladies’ room has also been provided in the outside stand, which has been placed on a new site and now comamnds what is really one of the best views obtainable of tht: course and straight. The totalisator house has been practically re-built, and is double its original size. Patrons can confidently count upon getting their money on and off the machine with a minimum of delay aim discomfort. The Club has also purchased a new “Dewsou” twenty-eight horse silent totalisator which will bo under the management of Messrs Marrett and Fox. of Napier, whose handling of the totalisator last year earned for them the golden opinions of investors. . i?oi Children’ s Hacking Coughs night Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure, Is fid 2b fid .
