There being no grounds for this ecstasy, a reaction set in, deepening into profound depression over the Falklands defeat and the Servian victory at Belgrade.

The four last German lists show 22,001, casualties, including 1600 in a. single Wurtemburg regiment. . A Saxon regiment lost 2000 at Beckslaere, Belgium, in August. Recent lists include 30,000 casualties in the Yyer fighting.
