The Railway'Departmerit notify that, the service • between Pohokura and Whangauiomona is suspended. No goods, live 'stock or parcels will be booked beyond Pohokura.

Last night was" wet and stormy in the extreme,'but a local resident was also inconvenienced on his ,'homeward way by the stygian darkness at midnight, when the electric light in the borough was temporarily "off." "1 could not see my hand in front of my face," the aforesaid resident states, "and - even tyith the aid of a bicycle lamp I was quite unable to keep to the road. It was glad when I reached home.
