The Herald, in a leader commenting on the New Zealand elections, trusts the system of local units will not be decided by Party vote. Our experience, it says, has taught us that only local navies can secure the safety of the Dominions. We are prepared to admit that we stand to gain considerably if the people of New Zealand decided to follow our course, everything helping and consolidating. The influence of the white, races in the Pacific will be strengthened and the efficiency of our Fleet will he enormously increased if the Dominion arid the (Conimonwealth agree on a common policy.
MOTOR AMBULANCE FROM THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN BAR.
(Received 10 a.m.) Adelaide, December 15. The judges and members of the South Australian bar subscribed £550 for the presentation of a motor ambulance fOr the British forces.
