Times and Sydney Sun Services. Washington, December 13. A resolution was introduced in the Senate urging that the twenty days’ truce to stimulate belligerents is a reflection upon the meaning of Christmas.

Washington, December 14. Mr Daniels, in his annual report
recommends the building of two Dreadnoughts, six destroyers, and eight submarines, of which one will be large for sen-going purposes, and the others for coast defence • one gunboat, and one fuel oilship.
