Austrians are displeased at the prepondering role of the Germans, and jealously resent Hungary taking a leading part in the affairs of State. AUSTRIAN ACTIVITY ON THE ITALIAN FRONTIER. ANTI-ITALIAN MANIFESTATIONS. United Press Association. (Received 9.30 a.m.) Loudon, December 9. Milan message says that advices received from the Austrian frontier show that the statements of Sig Salandra of Italy’s attitude was responsible for considerable military activity in Austria. On Friday night the railways poured troops to different places along the Italian border and Pola. It is estimated that 20,000 troops are stationed on the frontier and 100,. 000 at Pola. Anti-Italian manifestations occurred is several places. Hungarian soldiers spat on Italian workmen without rebuke by officers. Other Italian workmen were disabled.
