LONDON WOOL SALES. [By Electhio Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 11 a.m.) London, December 8. At Jacomb and Buxton’s wool sale 9538 bales were offered to an excellent attendance. Except for a few New Zealand slipes and scoured, for which there was animated competition fit late rates, the catalogues were entirely of merinos, for which competition was very weak. There are plenty oi American orders on tho market but these cannot be executed because ol insufficient information with regard to the guarantees required. Sir. George Reid has circulated an announcement that any reasonable guarantees will be accepted, but this is not considered sufficiently definite to justify operations. Some traders declare that the best solution of the difficulty would be for the Government to declare wool contraband of war. Shafty combings declined ten per cent, and short and faulty parcels fifteen to twentyfive per cent.
The New Zealand Loan an! Mercantile Agency Co. lias received the following advice from tendon regarding the wool sales: “G-easy nm'bms 7j per cent, and medium 10 to 15 per cent lower. Fairly active competition except for faulty, which is neglected. Crossbred good deman !. Finn market.
