ENEMY SUBJECTS BARRED. [United Press Association.] Sydney, December 7. Cabinet has decided that the State brickyards shall have preference over other suppliers of material for Government contracts. In consequence of the wharf laborers’ decision not to work with enemy subjects, as cabled on December 3, all enemy subjects had disappeared from the wharves to-day. TRANSPORTS AT ALBANY. A DESCRIPTIVE SKETCH. (Received 10.20 a.m.) Sydney, December 8. The “Herald” has published Mr A. B. Paterson’s descriptive article on the departure of the transports from Albany. It describes it as an impressive spectacle—the most ' wonderful sight Australasia ever saw. Thirty thousand fighting men representing Australia were* under way for the Great War. The Xew Zealanders gave Hone Heke’s old war cry; “Akel Ake! Kia Kaha!”
