On Tuesday, 24th inst., at Stratford, for my fortnightly sale, I had a medium' entry, with a good attendance of buyers. The demand was improved for all classes, sales being made at advanced rates as follows Jo months Jersey heifers (choice cattle) -£3 8s fid to £3 11s, others £2 to £2 15s fid, 15 months steers £3 3s to £3 10s fid, and £3 14s for a very choice line of 60, 2 year empty heifers £4 3s. 15 to 18 months bulls £2 11s to £4, 10 heavy bulls yarded, cows and calves £5 5s to £5 18s, fat heifers £7 3s to £7 ss, fat cows £9 18s to £8 14s, good forward cows up to £7 17s, good fresh conditioned cows up to £6 Is, good stores £4 17s to £5 11s, smaller framed cows £2 18s to £4. In the dairy pens I had a fair entry. The demand for these was quieter than at my previous sales. Prices were from £6 5s to £8 ior_ best heifers, and from £3 10s to £5 for small heifers, dairy cows £5 5s to £6 ss. , At Stony River yards on ednesday, there was a good entry, all of which 1 was able to clear at prices which in many cases were well above vendor*s reserves.
