Record acceptances were received >y the Feildihg Club for their spring meeting, which opens to-morrow. Quite v number of sportsmen from this dis r trict intend making the trip. Of the twenty-two engaged in the Vorangi Trial Handicap, Wild Daisy (who ran well at Otaki and Waverley), md Gold Rush (.1. R. McDonald’s) should run prominently. Fifteen are left in the Flying HanHeap. Coldstream, Sunbird and Ber:rada should make the race interesting. The St. Andrew’s Handicap held is disappointing both in numbers and class, and one would expect a better tot in a £IOO welter. Maniaroa and Portraiture should command most support. A good field are engaged in the spring Hurdles. Player and Fashion Plate are both good hurdlers when .veil, and are reported to be well forward.

No less than nineteen have accept'd for the Waituna Hack Hurdles. St 3!ate and Leapuki are both fast, and jump Avell. Eighteen are left in the Feilding stakes after the final payment, but jvidontly many are in through oversight, as they can luiA'e little chance in a race of this, description. The select of Sir G. Clifford (Adjutant or Battle Eve) and Postillion should run well.

Although the field- in the Kiwitea Welter is small, a good race should result. Guiding Way (who will he on iiis own track) and Birkful should he the prime fancies. The day’s sport will he brought to a close with the Fitzroy Hack Handicap, for which event tweuty-ithree paid up.
