MR HAWKINS’ TE WERA MEETING.
[To The Editor Stratford Post.] g[ r> _Mr Hawkins’ reply to my letter 1 think is very poor. I did not go to his meeting as Mr Gibson’s tool, but as an independent voter, which I suppose the candidate did not like by the .tone of his correspondence. I see he uses another of ids nice expressions (“unfortunate servants”). Was he never servant to anyone, or does he tliink it is nor an honest way of geraag a living : But I can assure aim I cannot li ,r e by my wits. As to l:is appealing io the judgment of the voter.that attended his meeting, he will know after the election that he has heon rejected once -again. It may interest Mr Hawkins to know that I have a vote in this district-,—rl am,-.etc., FRET) LAWRENCE, Te Wera.
