ROUMANIA FORCED TO TAKE AN ATTITUDE. United Press Association. New York, November 19. The Tribune received a cable from l?etrograd that three Turkish cruisers were reported to have entered Sulina, an arm of the Danube delta. As a result, Roumania has had the question put straight to her, whether she takes sides with Germany or maintains her rights and supports the laws of Europe. In the latter case the warships must be disarmed and interned. TURKISH COLUMN DEFEATED. Petrograd, November 20. Official: The Russians defeated a Turkish column at Ottiechai Valley. An action is proceeding along the whole of the Ezerout front,(but is hindered by rain. CONTROLLING A GERMAN BANK. Cairo, November 20. The Government has appointed an English controller of the Deutsche Orient Bank. WHAT OF THE KHEDIVE? AN INTERVIEW REPORTED IN A GERMAN PAPER. (Received 9.25 a.m.) London, November 20. The Frankfurter Zeitung publishes an interview with the Khedive, in which he is alleged to have said: My holiest duties compel me to remain at Constantinople, near my suzerain. Turkey is preparing an expedition with the objecf of abolishing Britain’s occupation. NOT BELIEVED. (Received 9.25 a.m.) London, November 20. The .reported interview with the Khedive is not believed. Wellington, Noveber 20. The High Comiasioner reports under date London, November 19th, 4 p.m.: The General commanding the force operating on the Shatte-el-Arab river, running into the Persian Gulf, reports: Advance was made on November 17th nine miles up the right bank of the river.' Our troops encountered 4500 of the enemy in a strong entrenched position with twelve guns, and after overcoming a determined resistance and turning his left flank we carried the entrenchments. The enemy retired, losing two guns, many prisoners, animal transport and reserve of ammunition. Our casualties were: Killed, officers 3, men 35; wounded officers fifteen, men three hundred.
