LOCAL AND GENERAL.
During the Wellington wool sale this morning (states the Press Association) a nugget given by a Reefton miner realised £243 at auction, and was handed back to the Belgian distress fund for re-sale.
Following is an extract, verbatim et liberation, from the latest issue of the "Opunake Times": "Mr Trask of Stratford, is relieving Mr Dilks, of the local post and telegraph office who is on sick leave. Mr Dilks is suffering from a severe attack of "s_!fl tOJo!o$*" Those who have carefully followed the war in the eastern theatre will probably be able to pronounce the name of Mr Dilks' complaint.
