SUNDRY SPORTS.
AXEMANSHIP.
The prowess of J. E. Shewry, of Taliora, an axeman of considerable ability, is well known. He is always prepared to meet rival axemen to prove bis skill. Last year William Pech, who won the 18 inch standing block. New Zealand Championship, was challenged by Mr Shewry, and although a considerable time has elapsed he has now offered to meet him. Mr Shewry *s agreeable, and if suitable dates can be arranged the match, which will be held at Stratford, should be of great interest to axemen generally.
