The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd, Stratford Branch, report as follows : On Tuesday 10th inst., we held our weekly springing heifer sale in our Stratford yards. b'ifty-tKree head were yarded, most of which were" sold at approved prices. Heifers, calved, small,'£4 to £4 17s 6d, medium £5-5s to,£s 10s to CO; 3-year-olds; fairly well grown £6 to p L2s (id; dairy cows, srriall and backward CO ss: medium quality C 7 to £7 5s ; good £7 10s to £9 2a'6(l • • On Wednesday, 11th inst;, wfl held our usual monthly .sale in our KohuraLalii yards, wlmn there was a fair yarding of 216 head of cattle, a 'gdodlnuml,or of which were grown steers, most of which were sold at'the hammer'or afterwards at full market values. The attendance of. the .public was good.. Yearling to 15 months steers (small) £2 12s 6d to £3 0s 6d qualify, 15 months steers £3 10s to £3 14*8, 15 months heifers (very nice Hue) £3 ss, 2 year old heifers £3 10s to £3 15s, nice line of forward stuff realised £1 14s, 2 year, old steers from £5 to £5 7s Od, 21 year old steers £5 13s, 2\ year old steers (good line) £0 10s, dairy heifers (close to profit) £5 to £5 10a, bulls from £6 5s to £7 6s. NEWTON KIND'S WEEKLY REPORT. At'Waiwakaiho yards on Friday, 1 6th inst., I had a full yarding of/cattle, 1 the condition and quality being ; very fair "right through. Yearling to 15 month heifers still continue hard of sale. Bulls, either good dairy sorts or with weight for canning, are in great demand. A good proportion of the entry was cleared at the following prices :— Yearling to 15 month heifers £1 16s Gd to £2 7s Od, 15 months steers (good line) £3 12s Gd, yearling to 15 month steers £3 6s', 20 ■ mouth steers' 1 £3 18s 6d to £4 2s, 2 to 2* year Rteers £5 4s 6d, colored 3 year steers £0 4s, small cows .with young calves £3 17s 6d to £4 Bs, empty 2 year heifers £3 18s (very few offering), sound bulls £? 10s ;to £8 15s, heavy weight bulls £lO 10s to £l2 10s, fair sorts £7 to £8 10s, smaller bulls £5 5s to £G 2s Gd, yearling bulls £2 lis to.£3 15s, aged cows £1 to £1 10s, small store cows £3 5s to £3 17s Gd, fair stores £4 Is Gd to £2 Bs, good stores £4 12s Od to £5 7s, forward cows £5 19s to £7 4s (according to frame and condition), fat cows £7 13s to £8 16r, small hoggets 12s lOd, aged owos and lambs £1 Is, fat hoggets £1 Is. Jn the dairy yards 1 had a fair entry, all of which 1 was able to clear at prices showing a sharp advance on late rates. Best heifers sold up to £B, smaller sorts up to £5 17s Gd, dairy cows £6 10a to £B, the 49 head sold averaging £5 15s. On" Wednesday, 11th inst., at my Stony River yards, I had a good entry, with brisk bidding for all lines offered, the full yarding being cleared during the day.
