THE P.S.S. BOARD.
Per Press Association. Wellington, November 13. The quarterly meeting of the Public Service Superannuation Board was held at Wellington on the 12th inst., there being present, Messrs Blow (chairman), Allport, Bishop, Combs, Ellison, Flanaghan, Huggins, and MacDonald. It was resolved to forfeit the retiring allowance of a contributor retired as medically unfit, but who had recovered his health and failed to accept suitable re-employment. Retiring allowances were granted to fourteen contributors retired by reason of age or length of service, representing an annual expenditure of £I6OB 3s. Two contributors were granted allowances on retirement as medically unfit, totalling £65 15s per annum. Eight widows and sixteen children were granted statutory allowances aggregating £352 per annum. The amount of compensation accrued to officers retired amounts to £3103 10s Is. One application for a retiring allowance on account of medical unfitness was refused, the contributor having declined to accept employment which the Board considered suitable for him.
