lkrough a gig capsizing at Kaitangata yesterday afternoon a young man named Joseph Smith lost his life. Accompanied by two other young men, Smith was driving down a steep road when the reins snapped, and, the horse becoming unmanageable, the horso and trap went over a bank. Smith was killed instantly, bub the others wvyc nol injured.
