MR HAWKINS' TE WERA MEETING.
Sir, —Mr Hawkins, in his letter in your Saturday's issue, has apparently mistaken the gentleman that wrote the letter that made him so bitter—for the person that made the interjections at his meeting here, I can assure him that I am the tool of no boss or political leader if he is, and my vote will not be wasted on an abusive man. Judging from the freedom with which
the candidate uses the terms "political tool," "boss," "irresponsible," etc, one could readily imagine that 1)0 has been a close associate with Tain many Hall, or that the old Liberal Party adopted hugely such tactics. I should not have condescended to take any notice of the candidate's remarks if he had not been abusive.—Yours, etc., FRED LAURENCE, Te Wera, November 9, 1914.
