Waipawa, November 5
Mr A. E. Jull, Liberal candidate, at a mooting last night, said, the defection of men elected as Liberals allowed Mr Massey to seize office. The people would return to Liberalism after three years’ experience of the Government’s failure to carry out its promises of deforms. A vote of thanks and confidence in the Liberal Party was passed.
M - W- S. Maslin, Opposition candidate for Ashburton, opened his campaign last night. -He received a sympathetic hearing, and a vote of thanks and confidence in him as the future representative, and in the Liberal party, was carried unanimously.
Mr W, H. Hawkins returned to Stratford to-day for a few hours from the hack districts. In the course of a conversation with a “Post” representative, he expiessed himself as'delighted with his experiences and meetings so far. At Matau on Tuesday evening and Huiroa last evening the respective meetings were both large and enthusiastic. He speaks at Douglas this evening, Toko Road to-morrow*
