Germans bought up the British newspapers, which have ceased publication, the Germans now controlling the entire native press at Peking and several papers at Tientsin. A message from Chefoo states that many buildings at Tsing-tao are ablaze.

The crew of the wrecked German destroyer S9O, who were interned in the Niuking Exhibition grounds, escaped on Friday, but were recaptured at Puttow.
