THE SUPERSTITIOUS BOERS.
Capetown, October 30
It is stated that the late General de la Rey, who'was shot by a sentry, attached great importance to the prophecies of Tan Rensburg, a religious monomaniac in the Richtenlurg district, including a prediction that Generals Beyers and De Wet would be instrumental in the restoration of the old republic, also that Beyers and his men would be invisible in battle. Captured rebels admit that they were influenced by Van Rensburg's prophecies. His friends believe that De Wet is suffering from religious mania.
