LPbu Prebs Association.] Christchurch, October 29. ■ Emily Bateman, a married woman, 32 years of age, and residing at 16, Durham street, was admitted to the hospital to-day suffering from very severe burns on the lower part of the body. She was heard groaning by some neighbours, avlio found her lying under a tree in her garden. The only evidence of fire was a pile of burnt newspapers. Her injuries are reported to be of a serious nature.
