The Council met at 11 a.m. Hons Bell, Aitken and Hardy Were appointed a committee to confer with the House upon amendments to the Education Bill, the conference to take place at 5.30. The House refused to agree to the amendments made by the Council m the Legislative Council Bill, and Hons. Bell, Wigi-am and Hardy were appointed a committee to confer with the House at 5.45. The Public Works Amendment and Pensions Amendment Bills were read a first time.

The Council rose at 11.10, to resume again at 2.30. ______
