THE LATE FIRE.
[To The Editoe Sthatvoed Post.'] Sir, —I see by your paper this evening that no enquiry is to be made into the late fire. Here is a file that has caused, the loss of anything from one to three thousand pounds to the Borough, and no enquiry to be instituted. It is to be hoped the Boiough Council will not allow the matter to be passed over so lightly. it does not matter, one scrap that there may lie no evidence to convict anyone of incendiarism. If the slightest suspicion attaches to anyone, it is duo to that person to have the matter clear up. Jt is imopssible that no one, if they wish to, could throw jno light on the matter,* and if this light is not thrown it is primary evidence there is something to conceal.— 1 am, etc., 1 H. WILSON.
