THE ENEMY REPULSED AFTER VIOLENT FIGHTING.

Official: During the last few days superior Austrian forces violently attacked the Montenegrins and Servians in the direction of Serajevo. They were repulsed with heavy losses. The Montenegrins captured a number of officers, horses, arms, and material near Fotticha. AUSTRIAN MONITOR MINED. (Received 9.10 a.m.) Vienna, October 24. Official.—The Austrian monitor Twes struck a mine in the river Savo and sank’. Thirty three of the crew were drowned. SIGNIFICANT NICK-NAME FOR THE LANDSTURMERS. (Received 9.10 a.m.) Rome, October 24. Private advices from Austria state that the calling up of the Landsturm has created profound depression. The Landsturmers have been nicknatned “The State Cripples!” They include thousands of men who’have been medically rejected from the army and are suffering from incurable physical defects.
