. ; , Yesterday:-afternoon the Stratford Golf Club members held a special afternoon on the links to farewell two of the Club's most prominent lady players, the .Misses Obeli, who leave shortly to take up their residence at Palmerston North. A Flag Competition was arranged and an exciting contest resulted in a win for Miss Wake and E. S. Rutherford. The Misses Orbeil were the recipients ot handsome souvenirs from members of the Club, which were presented by the President, Mr A. W. Budge. : Afternoon tea was provided by the lady players and several visitors were present, the gathering proving .a most enjoyable one. , Both the Misses Orbed are in the front rank of local golf players and they .will be much missed Press Association. ■ ■< •
