THE POWER OF UNIONISM.

NEW SOUTH WALES ULTIMATUM. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) United Press Association. Sydney, October 19. As an outcome of complaints of unfairness of non-unionism reaping the benefits won by unionists, Mr "Griffith, Minister for Lands, has issued an ultimatum to unionists employed by the Public Works Department that from the beginning of the current month all workers who had not become members of unions would receive only the rate of wages current "before the last awards were obtained governing their respective callings. The ultimatum adds that Mr Griffith has no desire to force any man's conscience in the matter, but at the same time considers that workmen staying outside their nnions should not be permitted to receive the benefit increments won by the exertions of organisation.
