DOCKYARD DISASTER. ✓ SIX DESTROYERS DAMAGED. United Press Association. Rome, October 5. v A message from Trieste states that a fire at Mount Aleoue arsenal destroyed the scaffolding of an Austrian Dreadnought which was ready for launching on Monday. The vessel crashed to the ground, and six destroyers were damaged. Many workmen have been arrested on suspicion of incendiarism. Rome, October 16. Five thousand were employed at the Mont Alcone dockyard. The authorities recently eagerly superseded Italians by Slavs. Seditious inscriptions have now been found on the walls, such as “Long live Prinzip, Franz Ferdinand’s assassin.” These point to Slav incendiarism. AUSTRIANS REPULSED AT VLASNITZA. SERVIANS AND MONTENEGRINS CO-OPERATE. Cettinje, October 15. The Servians and Montenegrins, a combined force, defeated the Austrians at Ylasnitza. Many Austrians were killed and captured. ITALIAN NEUTRALITY. AUSTRIA PUTS ALL HER TRUST IN GERMANY. (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, October 16. A correspondent who toured the Austrian frontier and Italy states there is a strong feeling in favor of neutrality, the Italians considering that the longer they wait the stronger they-will be and the weaker will their potential enemies become., Austria and Germany are doing all in their power to avert giving Italy grounds for going to war. In "Vienna* and Berlin the name of Italy is scarcely mentioned without execration, but the press of both capitals have been schooled not to disclose this, the attitude in Vienna having been full and open for years. The spirit of the people has been cruelly chastened by the total failure of their proud Imperial arms against little Servia. The fortifying of the capital proceeds apace. Austria now puts all her trust in Germany.
