United Press iAssociation. (Received 9.30 a.m.) London, October 12. Wheat is firm, sellers holding for more money. The wool sold for Home trade amounted to 45,000 bales, for the Continent 2000, for America nil, and there was held over 8500. LONDON WOOL SALES. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 10th October, 1914. The wool sales closed strong. Merino super, medium, 7\ to 10 per cent, inferior 10 to 15 per cent lower than July. Crossbred fine 5 to 7] per cent, medium and coarse greasy 10 to 15 per cent., scoured 15 per cent., slip© 20 per cent., lambs 2 o per cent, higher. [Peb Pbess Association.! Auckland, October 13. Owing to tiie war and the disinclination of the shareholders to pay calls, the directors of the Saxon Gold-mining Company decided at a meeting to-day to suspend operations. NEWTON KING’S HAYMARKET REPORT. There was a fair ytirding of pigs at my Haymarket sale on Saturday last, and a large attendance of farmers were present. The inquiry was not so keen as was in evidence at last sale, though a clearance was effected at the following prices: Slips and weaners 9s, 19s 6d. to £1 7s, the latter being obtained for a l>en of well grown 9 weeks old weaners, small and rough sorts 5s to 6s 6d. small stores £1 4s to £1 7s 6d, medium £1 10s 6d to £1 12s 6d, sows £3 17s 6d, boars £2 15s, calves 2s to 4s, ploughs £1 7s 6d to £1 15s.
