Mr and Mrs Phjlip Snowden.paid a short yisit to .Stra,y'or.d to-day. They 'alri’ved by the 12.45 train and wer;e Afrtertained at luncheon, hy ,a number of citizens,, Mn.jSnowden,. speaking in ’reply to a personal welcome, said he , was delighted with New Zalnand. Mrs Snowden’s personality is simply charming, and all those present were delighted with both of the visitors. The greatest meeting ever held in ITawera took ( place last night, when both Mi and Mrs Snowden addressed the gathering. There was not “standing” room, and lots of people were turned away. r Hio Hawera Star speaks in the highest manner of both speakers, and says that Mrs Snoden’s remarks on motherhood are simply groat. Mr and Airs Snowden will arrive in Stratford by motor car on Wednesday evening and after tile civic reception will speak in the Town Hall.
