Bidding throughout was brisk, practically all lines being cleared at advanced rates as follows: Yearling steers (mostly rough) £2 to £2 19s, yearling heifers good £1 17s 6d to"£2 10s, smaller £1 10s 6d to £1 15s, empty 2-year heifers £2 15s to £3 7s, 2-year steers. £4 17s, forward cows £5 5s to £6 3s 6d, fresh conditioned cows £4 9s to £4 18s, store cows £3 15s to £4 4s Gd, small framed £2 15s to £3 10s, aged £2 to £2 8s Gd, 'hulls £5 ss, ewes and lambs small farmers’ line of 20 f.ni. ewes with 36 lambs £1 75.6 d, springing lieifers best £6 2s. Gd to £7 7s 3d, good'£s ss'’to £5 15s, small"£3 is to £4 12s Gd, guaranteed cows' £4 15s to £6 12s 6d, aged £3 2s Gd to ;4. Mr Heppel’s dairy cows were mostly in milk, the best rows ( selling from £lO 10s to £l3, good sorts £/ to £8 15s, empty or aged cows £3 12s Gd to £5 ss. . On Tuesday, 29th, at Stratford, I Sad a good yarding , and ajetndance. '['ho enquiry for all classes .was much unproved, spirited bidding being obtained for all lines offered, and a good •learanee was.effected at prices well ihcad of recent sales. In the dairy yards I had a full yarding,of springers and although there \yere some dee heifers - distributed through the dues, the quality throughout was be'ow previous yardings. Small springng heifers still continue hard of sale, nit for well-grown : heifers showing nudity I have an unsatisfied demand. line of 40 Shorthorn ycatlings (just )ff turnips) was yarded by Mi" Frank "opestake, the steers realising £3 12s 6d and the heiffers £2 10s.
