ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
[Per Prisb Association.] Wellington, October 1. An elderly man, named John White, a wharf laborer, was assisting to put on the hatches of the troopship Ath'enic this morning when he overbalanced and fell to the bottom of the hold, about 24 feet. He fractured the base of his skull and died in a few minutes.
