'' '' •' ; Toko surpassed itself last night in jthe stirring enthusiasm with which the (district entered into the spirit of the concert and dance in aid of the Belgian Belief Fund. Mr M. The flag brought the fine sum of £24 7s 6d. Three Union Jacks were sold and fetched 355, and two of them have been handed back to the committee. A cake weight-guessing competition resulted in Mrs L. Roberts and Miss M, Clark tying with guesses of Gibs 14|0z., the correct weight being 71bs. Two curio stamps from Samoa brought 245. Quite a feature of the evening was the recitation. "The Abseut-Mindod Beggar," by Captain Allen, of Ngaere, and the result of the subsequent collection was the sum of £6 17s 3d. The concert.programme was much enjoyed, particularars of which we hope to publish on Monday in full. A dance followed the concert and was well attended.
