The Cameroons, or Kamernn.—A German protectorate on the Gulf of Guinea, the sea coast more particularly fronting the Bight of Biafra for 200 miles. Area, 191,000 square miles. Coffee, • cocoa, tobacco, rice, maniocs yams and cotton are grown. Rubber, - palm, kernels, palm oil, ivory, -cocoa; copal, copra, 'and kola nuts are exported. Iron, gold and indigo are Cther products. The largest town is Duala, population 22,000. Tho population of the protectorate is 3} millions, of whom 1800 are European?.
