Prior to‘ the capture of Jaroslav, the Austrian trenches were filled with wounded and dead who had been lying there for days. The prisoners had been foodlass for four days. The Austrian troops in were almost a rabble. Hardly any officers were left in. many of the regiments, and the Russians in hot ■ pursuit 'captured hundreds.
