NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday, 11th inst., at my Wai-wakaiho-yards, I had a fair entry and attendance. Competition for stor* cows was exceptionally good and there was an improved inquiry'for other cattle. In the dairy yard I had a big entry, including a lot of nice heif-

era, and these met good competition, the demand for good heifei's for South Tafanaki making an appreciable advance in prices, as follows: —Choice heifers from £8 10s to £9 15s,' good well grown heifers £6 to £7 12s 6d; others (shade smaller) £5 5s to £5 17s 6d, small £3 15s to £4 17s : 9cl,:the 81 heifers sold averaging £5 17s 9d, dairy cows (guaranteed) £4 15s to £5 10s. •

At Stony 'River yards on Wednesday s I had a fair entry of cattle, which sdld .as follows: —Yearling heifers £1 6s 6d to £1 10s, yearling sheers £2'ls to £2 12s, empty 18 month to 2 year heifers £2 17r.t0 £3 12s, bulls £6 to £6 7s'6d; Fat eo\vs'£7 17s 6d to £9, forward'cows £5 1s to £5 7s, good store cows £4 Is to £4 12s 6d, fair store cows £3 lis to £3l7s, old cows £1 to £1 17s 6d, springing heifers £4 to £7 7s Gd, dairy cows £4 to £6 10s, f.m. ewes in lamb 18s. .

On Friday, at Waiwakaiho, for my spring horse fair, I had a good catalogue of horses, of which the majority were sold at very satisfactory prices:— Unbroken half draught, 2 and 3 year iillies £l3 to'£2l 10s, unbroken 1 half draught 2 and 3 year geldings £l3 to £lB, unbroken 3 year f draught gelding £3O, unbroken 4 year olds £lO 10s to £26 10s, broken i draughts £l6 15s to £25 15s, broken draughts £26 to £3O, aged £6 10s to £l6, draught mares £36 to £lO, harness horses£ll to' £l7, coblis £7 10s to £B' 15s, hacks C-t 10s to £lO 10s, ponies £3 10s to £lO 10s, aged £2 to £3 ss. Mr Shee'hy's team realised from £9 10s to £2O us, and Mr Roebuck's horses £7 10s to £l6.

Private sales.—During the week the inquiry for all classes of stock has improved and I have made sales of good linos at the' following prices :—-Yearling heifers £2 5s t*>! £2'ls, yearling steers £3'ss to £2 7s' Gd, 2 year steers to make a drive of 2GO £5 to £4, store cows £1 to£l 2s. dairy bulls £lO 10s, fat cows £8 to £6, dairy cows £6> 10s to £B, springing heifers £7 17s 6d to £-1 10s. fat wethers £1 5s 6d, hoggets 10s to Us 7d, empty ewes 15s to 16s.
