CREATION OF NEW PORTFOLIO OF PUBLIC WORKS', fßf Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] Melbourne, September 18. The caucus decided to create a new Federal Works Department to control Canberra, the Federal railways, and all Federal public works, excepting naval and fortifications. The new portfolio was given to Mr Jensen, increasing the Ministerial salaries from £12,000 to £14,000 or £15,000.
General .satisfaction is expressed with the new Ministry.
