THE FLOWER SHOW.
A SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITION. The Stratford Horticultural Society’s annual spring show, hold in the Town Hall yesterday, was very successful. The attendance of the public was good, and there should be a good sum to hand over to the Patriotic Fund. A special feature was the quality of the blooms, the strains, being of the most up-to-date kind. This was particularly noticeable among the novices, who seem to have chosen the proper stock to start with. Hr S. J. llawles showed a line assortment of pot plants, consisting, of cineraria and schezanthus. Mr 0. B. Walsh had on exhibition a few line specimens of cyclamens, and Mr Oorkill showed a peculiar trailing, cactus.
Mr Victor Davies, of New Plymouth, gave every satisfaction as judge. The Egmont Club orchestra enlivened proceedings with a number of excellent selections. The evening was wound up with an auction of exhibits, conducted by Mr IT. Cottier. THE PRIZE LIST. Following is the prize-list: Collection Daffodils (25). —I*.
