CORRESPONDENCE.
[To The Euitoii Stkatfor.o Post.} Sir, —Would you allow me a few inlies of your valuable space to pnt the case of the Cardiff fanners in connection with their contributions to the
various war funds from an impartial >.on~suppliers point of view. We have lad various statistics given us showing iow a dairy company's donation of .\ ):■.• cent, works out at 1;.; Gel per cow giving £ls worth of milk for the season, that it costs them ]\h of cheese of : every 1601 b crate, etc, and I have '•.card farmers rather severely critici>?d by some whom I have asked 10 subscribe to our local effort. 1 thought a word in defence would not come emiss. As secretary of the local war-fund committee, I see some of the inner workings of things, and that, though tho directors of a dairy company may not sea their way to pledge officially more than \ per cent of the season's output, every ones feelings and pockets having to be studied, their contributions do not end there by any means, iu evidence of which, see the subscription lists now in circulation in the district, to .say nothing of the calls to support every social function going. Ono sometimes thinks a man might :lo more, but if we knew his circumstances, it might be found ho was doing more than ourselves in proportion to his ability. I am, etc., SECRETARY CARDIFF WAR FUND COMMITTEE.
