There are reports of a naval battle between Germans and Russians off Aland Island. Letters from Berlin state that there are crowds outside the newspaper offices devouring bulletins reporting the capture of Russian army corps of thirty thousand, sixty thousand, and even ninety thousand. Every English and French name has disappeared from streets and hotels, which have been re-named. The clock faces showing the time in the principal capitals have London, Paris, and St. Petersburg pasted over. j

(Received 12.20 p.m.) Petrograd, September 11. Official: German troops brought from the west are concentrated at the River Alle, whence they have begun a move in great columns across the Masarian Lakes. The Russian advanced troops are holding the enemy's advance.
