The death is announced, from Genova, of the Right Hon. Sir John Henniker Heaton, the greatest postal reformer of his generation, at the age of 60 year,s. Of sixty postal reforms jYhich.hje tabulated in ,1885, no fewer than forty have been carried into effect, notably Imperial penny postage, the parcel post to France, telegraphic money orders, and AngloAmerican penny postage. He had landed and newspaper interests in Australia, and he had conferred on him the freedom of the cities of London and Manchester.
