(Received 8.20 a.m.) London, September 4. Wheat is firm, and is being mostly held for 3d or 6d advance. South Australian afloat is being held for 46s Od and Australian landed 465. The visible supply is 46,561,000 bushels. Flour is steady but quiet, Australian (store) 355. Oats are firm but there is few offering. Peas and beans are quiet, prices being nominal and unchanged.
MATTHEWS, GAMLIN AND CO.’S REPORT. On Wednesday last we held our usual weekly sale at our Inglewood yards, and had a fair yarding of stock. Wo quote: Springing heifers £2 12s 6d to £5 12s 6d, springing cows £4 7s 6d to £4 17s 6d, store cows £3 9s to £4 12s, empty heifers £2 8s to £3 Is, yearling steers £1 9s to £2 9s 6d, yearling'heifers £1 9s to £1 12s, owes and lambs 22s 9d.
