The final euchre party and dance o the season is being held to-night ii the Tuna schoolroom.
The monthly meeting of the W.C 7.U. was held on Thursday ai'ternooi in the Broadway Methodist Church.
A reminder is given oi ; the concerl to be held in the Coronation Hall. Toko, this evening in aid of the school prize fund.
An Auckland Press Association tele gram to-day states that the body o: .Mrs Bemrose, who had been missing from Manawaru, near Te Aroha, foi four weeks, was found in the Waihoi river yesterday.
In the House of Representatives last night the Premier pointed out that the House had advised people to go on steadily with business, and (Parliament should set an example. If nothing came in the way. it was proposed to proceed with the elections this year. The Food Commission held its first sitting in Wellington yesterday, when there were, present: Mr Justice Stringer (chairman), Hon. J. Barr, Messrs W. Mine, G. Wilson, A. Begg, and G. .T. Garland. It was decided that the examination of witnesses take place in camera, and that official reports be supplied to .the press.
