IN HELIGOLAND BIGHT IN THE NORTH SEA. FOUR GERMAN SHIPS SUNK. SMALL DAMAGE TO THE BRITISH ■\ (Received 12.35 p.m.) London, August 28. IHia Press Bureau announces that British destroyers on Friday, supportad by cruisers, attacked the Germans in Heligoland bight and sank two German destroyers and two cruisers.
Many German vessels were damaged. The British cruiser Amethyst and the destroyer Laertes also suffered damage. Other British vessels in the engagement received no serious damage. The British loss of life was not heavy. "V
