DESCENDANTS OF ROYALTY JOIN THE BRITISH.

The Bourbon Princes, Louis of Orleans and Antoine of Braganza, are leaving the Austrian arms and joining the British.

Bourbon is the name of a. famous Royal family of Europe, descended from Hugh Capet, who founded the third French dynasty in 887. The Bourbons may now he considered as divided into five branches—l, the elder lino, which has given eight Kings to France; 2, the Orleans branch, descended from the brother of Louis XVI.; 8, the Bourbons of Spain, descended from Louis XIV. of France; 1, the Bourbons of Italy, descended from Philip Y. of Spain; 5, the Bourbons of the ducal line of Parma, also descended from Philip Y. of Spain. The House of Braganza dates from the commencement of the 15th century and is now represented iu the reigning dynasty of the Kingdom of Portugal. Its originator was the natural son of King .John 1., named Alfonso, who was, by bis father, created Duke of Braganza and Lord of Guimaraous, He married Beatrix, daughter and heiress of the Count of Barcellos and Huron, from which union sprang the Dukes of Braganza. The present line ascended the Portuguese throne iu 1640, when that people revolted
