The ' High Commissioner reports from London under date the 27th, at 6.10 p.m. ; Official.—English cruiser sunk the German cruiser Kaiser Wilhelm dor Grosse off the coast of Africa.
General French reports that the forces Avere engaged yesterday Avith superior forces, but the troops fought splendidly, and he considers the general position in the impending battle is satisfactory. (Note : The Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse is an armed merchant cruiser of 10,790 tons displacement, and Avas built in 1901).
